Sarah Barry, major in Economics, Mathematics and Psychology will present her paper "Measuring Interpersonal Trust using the Investment Game" at SOBIE in Destin, Florida.

APRIL 9-12, 2017

Three of our professors will be presenting their work at the APEE Conference in Lahaina, Hawaii.

Dr. Saravia will be presenting "Political Capital and Economic Freedom" on Tuesday, April 11th at 8:00 am and "Pope Francis's Economics: Good Intentions, Unfortunate Ideas" on Wednesday 12th at 8:00 am.

Dr. Ngene will be presenting "Volatility and Shock Interactions and Risk Management Implications: Evidence from the US and Frontier Markets" on Tuesday, April 11th at 10:25 am.

Dr. Allen Lynch will be presenting "The Impact of Economic and Institutional Factors on the Existence and Proliferation of Cybersecurity Crime" on Tuesday, April 11th at 3:50 pm.

We also expect several of our students to present their work at APEE with the support of research grants offered by the BB&T Center.

Nominations and applications should be submitted by email to Dr. Alex Padilla (alexecon1776@gmail.com) by February 6, 2016. They should include: (1) the entire paper or a 600-word abstract; (2) the undergraduate student’s contact information; (3) a copy of a driver’s license or other official document showing proof of age (21+).  In addition, (4) this year the APEE Executive Committee is also requiring that all students who want to participate in the APEE undergraduate poster competition and attend the APEE conference be accompanied by a faculty sponsor.  Faculty sponsors and students must complete and sign a sponsor responsibility agreement form, which explains student and faculty responsibilities and obligations with respect to presenting and attending the APEE Conference.  The sponsor responsibility form is accessible via the following link. In order to be able to register, and participate in the APEE undergraduate poster competition, all students and faculty sponsors must comply with all requirements, without exception.
