Mrs. Stephanie Morris joined Mercer University as a Lecturer of Accounting in fall 2006. She graduated from Mercer University with a B.B.A. summa cum laude in Accounting.  She earned a Masters in Accounting with a specialization in taxation summa cum laude from the University of Georgia.  Mrs. Morris is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia.  Academic honors include the Georgia Society of C.P.A.'s Certificate of Academic Excellence and the Georgia Federal Tax Conference Award.  Mrs. Morris serves as a subject matter expert in the area of taxation for Becker Professional Education.  She also provides tax and financial statement preparation for individuals and small business clients. Her industry experience is in the area of auditing.  Courses that she has taught include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Taxation, and Governmental and Not-For-Profit Accounting.  Mrs. Morris has recently developed a new service-learning course in the area of taxation enabling students to serve as certified tax preparers in the Macon community through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.  She is the faculty advisor for the Mercer chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.  Mrs. Morris serves on the advisory board of the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home Foundation and works with the college ministry at North Macon Presbyterian Church.  She and her husband, Tate, have three sons.
