Combined Master of Business Administration/Master of Accountancy
What’s better than one business degree? Two business degrees.
In today’s competitive job climate, it’s important to set yourself apart from your competitors. Mercer’s Combined Master of Business Administration/Master of Accountancy degree program allows students to minimize time and financial investment to earn both degrees simultaneously. The Combined MBA/MAcc degree meets the course requirements to sit for the Uniform CPA exam and for CPA licensure in the State of Georgia.
The Combined MBA/MAcc program is offered on Mercer’s Atlanta campus in a flexible, self-paced format:
- An individual course meets one evening per week.
- Complete an entire course in an eight-week session.
- Eight-week sessions enroll five times per year.
- Comfortably take two classes per term to progress through the degree program more quickly.
- The combined-degree model provides reduced tuition costs and faster time to degree completion.
The Combined Master of Business Administration/Master of Accountancy program's combined curriculum plan requires 60-81 credit hours in both MBA and MAcc coursework. With both MBA and MAcc courses built into the curriculum, students will gain preparation for the management of human, material and financial resources, as well as preparation for opportunities in public or private accounting.
Combined MBA/MAcc students are seeking advanced degrees in both business and accounting simultaneously.Though most students have an educational background in business or accounting, it is not required for admission. There is also no prior work experience requirement. Many students are working while studying and seek a flexible schedule with evening classes while others are studying full time while preparing for the CPA. The average age is 28 years old with five years of work experience.
Individuals who successfully complete a Mercer Combined MBA/MAcc degree program can go on to work as business professionals in positions including: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), treasury manager, tax accountant, cost accounting manager, auditor, or financial manager.
Students gain real-world business and accounting experience through internships and job placement opportunities. Our students and alumni can be found working at Fortune 500 companies and major accounting firms such as:
