Students studying economics at Mercer University will analyze production of firms, public finance (including taxation, spending, and regulation), and behavior of individual consumers. Our faculty guide students to understand both individual and aggregate tendencies, equipping them for success in their future business careers.

The Economics major is available as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. The BA in Economics follows the general education requirements of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, covering a broad range of disciplines. The BBA in Economics curriculum establishes knowledge of general business principles.

Gain experience

Mercer’s Economics program offers a variety of courses including econometrics and intermediate micro and macroeconomics. Students will develop skills in critical thinking, quantitative research, and analysis to synthesize large amounts of information, preparing to become viable candidates for employment and graduate school.

Individuals who successfully earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Economics are well prepared for graduate studies, policy-oriented research, consulting activities, and other employment across a multitude of industries. SPECIAL CONSIDERATION PROGRAM
