Mercer University’s Master of Science in Business Analytics program is designed for the detail-oriented problem solver seeking to pursue or advance their career in the growing field of business analytics. This degree program combines business education with data retrieval, analysis, and presentation skills that prepare students to analyze, synthesize, and visually present data effectively in a business setting. Background knowledge or experience in business analytics is not required.

Prepare for Today’s Workforce
Through Mercer’s Master of Science in Business Analytics program, students are equipped with in-demand skills and knowledge required for success in the industry:

  • Learn to effectively manage and manipulate data for informed decision making
  • Increase understanding of statistics and methodologies including linear regression, cluster analysis, and multiple regression
  • Gain experience using statistical software packages such as STATA, R, and SPSS
  • Develop data visualization skills and present results to others with Tableau and Power BI

The M.S. in Business Analytics is offered on Mercer’s Atlanta campus in two cohort delivery models: a weekday format consisting of on-campus classes that is completed in 16 months, and a weekend format that combines Saturday classes with online meetings that is completed in 15 months.

The Master of Science in Business Analytics curriculum focuses on developing an understanding of the performance of an organization through data analytics and statistical methods. Culmination of the program is through a fieldwork experience in which students analyze public or private client data to propose informed solutions to a business problem. Students present their work and findings from their final projects to the clients and program cohort members.

Students learn to become effective analysts through examination of several key topics:

Students enrolled in the Master of Science in Business Analytics program understand the need to interpret and analyze data to inform business strategy and drive key workplace decisions. A structured curriculum and options for a weekday or weekend program format enable students to pursue the degree on their terms.

Mercer’s M.S. in Business Analytics degree program provides students the opportunity to enhance skills within their current positions or use the degree to launch a career in business analytics. Upon completion of the program, graduates can go on to work as business professionals in a variety of positions including: credit analyst, data scientist, quantitative marketing analyst, project developer, risk manager, healthcare data analyst, pricing strategy analyst, social media strategist, and more.

Applicants for the Master of Science in Business Analytics program must hold a bachelor’s degree with a qualifying grade point average from a regionally accredited institution; a major in business is not required.

    Submit the required application fee in the form of a check or money order made payable to Mercer University.
  • Official GMAT or GRE Test Score
    Applicants must take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and achieve a qualifying score. Applicants holding a graduate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or an equivalent international graduate degree may waive the GMAT requirement. Unofficial copies of the score report may be included with the application for initial review and evaluation, but an official score report will be required for applicants who are offered admission.
  • Transcripts from All Previously Attended Institutions
    Submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended. Former Mercer University students are not required to request a Mercer University transcript.

Financial Planning
Students enrolling in the M.S. in Business Analytics can take advantage of federal and/or private loan programs to assist with covering the costs of tuition. Mercer University’s Office of Student Financial Planning is equipped to provide up-to-date information on financial assistance available to graduate students via federal loan programs.

Non-U.S. citizens or students who graduated from a non-U.S. university must also complete the following requirements to be evaluated for admission:

  • Evaluation of Foreign Credentials
    Applicants who completed all or part of their education abroad are required to have their foreign educational credentials evaluated by an independent evaluation service. A Course-by-Course and Grade Point Average Equivalent Evaluation are required for admission. You must submit an official sealed copy of your evaluation with your application materials.

  • Official Translations
    Documents submitted in a language other than English must be accompanied by official translations.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    A TOEFL or IELTS score not more than two years old is required for international applicants whose primary language is not English. Official score reports must be sent directly to the Office of Admissions by the Educational Testing Service. Use institution code 5025 for submission of official score reports. Unofficial copies of the score report may be included with the application for initial review and evaluation, but an official score report will be required for applicants who are offered admission.

    Exception: A TOEFL score is not required of international applicants who have attended another U.S. institution and completed freshman English Composition I and II with a grade of "C" or higher.
