Students in Mercer’s Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) major establish a foundation in risk management, property and casualty insurance, underwriting, and insurance company operations. Through a finance-focused curriculum, students will develop knowledge and skills related to risk measurement, mitigation, and management.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in a different field of study can minor in Risk Management and Insurance.
Gain experience
Through Mercer’s established relationships with Middle Georgia companies, including Georgia Farm Bureau and Southern Trust Company, students will gain real-world experience while applying knowledge developed in the classroom. Students studying risk management and insurance at Mercer will develop skills needed to succeed in the insurance workforce through internships and relationships with RMI professionals serving as teachers. Mercer’s Risk Management and Insurance major offers an opportunity for students to closely interact with the industry, so that upon graduation they are prepared for future careers in the professional business world.
