Krista Keene Massey began her career at Mercer in 2020 after an impressive career as a marketing executive in the corporate world.  She spent over 25 years as a business marketing leader for major corporations in Atlanta, Georgia, for three different Fortune 500 companies.  She is currently the business school’s Director of Sports Marketing and Analytics leading one of our fastest growing majors.

Mrs. Massey served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing Activation and Engagement for SunTrust Banks, Inc through March of 2020.  In this role, she was responsible for all sports and entertainment, sponsorship, event, and field marketing for the company.  She was also an instrumental brand leader on the transition team to form Truist, the completed merger with BB&T in 2019.

Krista led the strategic negotiation and execution of the Atlanta Braves SunTrust Park project, including the onUp Experience, a financial wellness retail space free to the public.  During her tenure at SunTrust, the banking industry experienced unprecedented change.  As such, her team was tasked with strategic evaluation, consolidation, and reporting on all related projects.  Krista led partnerships with the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Dolphins, The Volvo Cars Open (the largest stand-alone WTA event in the country), Georgia Aquarium, The Historic Ryman Auditorium, The Durham Performing Arts Center, NASCAR, and numerous others.  She also developed the first company-wide collegiate marketing program that included University of Georgia, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt University, and many others.

As a native Atlantan, Krista also gives back her time, talent, and treasure with passion.  The organizations in which she served are WISE Atlanta (current – Chapter President), Speedway Children’s Charities (current – board member) Junior Achievement, The Joseph Sams School, The Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta Tip-off Club, Atlanta Sports Council, Girl Up, The Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee, and The Miami Super Bowl Host Committee.

In 2014, Krista was recognized with the prestigious Charles R. Yates Award for Outstanding Service for her work on the 2013-2014 Woodruff Arts Capital Campaign.

In addition to her current role at Mercer University, Krista is a marketing consultant through her own limited liability corporation, KeenEyeDesign, LLC, where she designs, builds, and executes marketing programs for small businesses and local charities.
