In today’s increasingly complex health care system, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and navigating the business and administration sector are crucial to thriving in the pharmacy profession. Offered in collaboration between Mercer’s School of Business and College of Pharmacy, the Combined Master of Business Administration (MBA)/Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is designed to prepare pharmacy professionals for effective management of human, material, and financial resources in business, government, and not-for-profit institutions within the health care sector.
- Business coursework provides practical applications of accounting, finance, marketing, and economics for informed decision making as a health care leader
- Certain course credits from the MBA program can apply toward Pharm.D. electives
- Occupational and professional opportunities will broaden in community, industry, and institutional practice
Program structure
Students must meet the admissions requirements for both the College of Pharmacy and the School of Business. Students will apply to each school and must be admitted to both schools before qualifying for the combined degree program. Students will enroll in Pharm.D. and MBA courses on Mercer’s Atlanta campus, and may completed the combined degree program within four years as a full-time student. Courses for the Pharm.D. begin once per year in August, and courses for the MBA begin five times per year in January, March, May, August, and October.
