Mercer University’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in General Business provides a comprehensive overview of essential business principles that can be tailored to specific personal and professional goals. Students create their own academic track by choosing six upper-level courses in business concentrations, such as accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing.
The General Business major focuses on broad business knowledge, technical expertise, and management skills required in today’s business world. Rigorous courses and hands-on projects expose students to a wide variety of business disciplines and methodologies.
Designed for busy and working adults
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Mercer University while managing other priorities is possible. Many of our students work, take care of families, and study, so we design our classes to meet the needs of busy adults. There are two eight-week terms during the fall and spring semesters, as well as one eight-week and one four-week term available during the summer semester. Mercer admits students to the program five times per year in January, March, May, August, and October.
The BBA in General Business is available in a variety of formats, and students have the flexibility to enroll in a combination of classes:
- Online: Complete the BBA in General Business completely online.
- On Campus: Students may take courses at Mercer’s Atlanta and Henry County locations. Students can take two classes per week, meeting one night only, enabling them to comfortably maintain a work-life balance.
- Blended: Some classes are offered in a blended combination of online and face-to-face meetings.
Pursue a career in the business world
With a deep understanding of business-related disciplines such as accounting, marketing, finance and information systems, many graduates work in various fields of the business industry or pursue careers within the local, state, or federal government. Study in general business can also prepare students to start their own businesses or to pursue an advanced degree. Students who successfully complete the BBA in General Business at Mercer can work in roles such as:
